This is a complete program where we teach every aspect of the ITF TaeKwon-Do including Self-Defense. This curriculum is more advanced because includes:
- More Physical Exercise
- Competition in Tournaments
- Training Seminars
- Travel outside the State
Our TaeKwon-Do Program follows General Choi philosophy and techniques including the so debatable SineWave. But our program is not only pure kicking and punching it involves more than that. We like to cover every aspect of the TaeKwon-Do so the student understand that is a complete martial art. Our program is different than the TaeKwon-Do you may know here in Orlando, because our goal is to expand the traditional art as it is and nothing less. We are very particular in the way we advance our students in their ranks and in the way we teach TaeKwon-Do.
Colored Belt promotions for our ITF TaeKwon-Do Program are generally on Saturday. This allow the student to be fresh and out of any school or work distraction in most of the cases, this also allow the student to bring their family to be part of their belt evaluation. We do not test students every month or every two month like other schools, we evaluate the student when we think they are ready and they know the material for their belt. Our belt evaluations are between 3 to 6 months depending the rank and requirements.
Students must train regularly, at least 2 times a week and test on time; they will be eligible for Junior Black Belt in roughly 3 years, however we cannot guarantee when or if a student will earn his/her black belt. We can only guarantee that the instructor will be with that student every step of the way, train and guide the student that is really up to the challenge on earning that belt.
TaeKwon-Do was designed as a self defense in Korea and was teach to the military before it was teach to other civilians. We teach you and your family the basics of self defense, applying what you learn in class in real life scenario. Of course this takes time because of movements, gripping, stamina and techniques need to be learned in order to apply everything efficiently.
We do patterns, also called forms. This is a debatable topics because few people know the purpose of this practice and claim is useless in the streets. While we like to disagree we also want to teach you the real purpose of this exercise. The way that we teach forms is not just to look pretty but to be stronger, to keep your balance, focus, coordination and learn every technique perform in a pattern and their use. Each movement was design with a purpose and we like to show it to you.
Board breaking has been part of the TaeKwon-Do life since the beginning and the purpose of it is to demonstrate how much force you can generate with your body. How your body can become a weapon if you ever need it. Board breaking will give you accuracy and test your power. We will teach you the right way.
If you are not into competition or high kicking you still can practice TaeKwon-Do because it will work for you as a good work out. Physical fitness is another area that we emphasizes not only to be stronger but to be healthy. Even if you had never take martial arts before, our TaeKwon-Do is a martial arts for everyone.
For those of you who want to challenge themselves to something more by going to tournaments, becoming a National or World Champion in ITF TaeKwon-Do we can prepare you for that. We can't tell you it will be easy but we can tell you that everything is possible if you put your mind and body into it.
