Jae Rivera started when he was 12 years old. He came from a different martial arts school and the process of integrating to our school, a different discipline and style was very difficult. A lot of times he wanted to quit, but with the help of his family, specially his mother, he conquered that fear and frustration and continue working and learning what Perseverance and Indomitable Spirit is. Within his ups and downs he manage to adapt and immediately became a great student and part of the DO family. Now after 6 years of training, competing, teaching, helping, failing and conquering, he managed to obtain his black belt.

We asked Mr. Jae a few questions about his Taekwon-Do career and this is what he had to say. This is his biography:

Mr. Joe said the school was better so me and mom showed up.

What do you like the most about Taekwon-Do?
Probably the environment, like just being myself around the people there.

Now that you are black belt, why you continue training?
To keep improving myself and others around me.
What are your goals in ITF Taekwon-Do?
Just keep going till I cant.
What are your goals in life?
Don’t become homeless.
Any advice for those training in Taekwon-Do?
Even though it gets harder and harder the further you get into it, never give up and stay determined to keep pushing through.
